Arts education platform with a subscription service
The client is a school of art management and curating with top instructors from the Hermitage, the Russian Museum, and the Tretyakov Gallery. They came to us with a Django project that had no convenient admin panel, a slow front end, and no clear idea of how to develop the product. The previous developers kept brushing off tasks.
We moved all the content and design from Django to WordPress. The platform became much more convenient for the editorial team — a familiar admin panel instead of the stock Django admin. A cost-effective solution for a content project.
We launched a subscription system for educational content: lectures, course recordings, and the media library. Users can subscribe to the whole catalog or buy individual lectures one at a time. The full cycle is covered: payment, access, renewal, and management in the user account.
Before us, everything came in via Excel or Y-Clients (a system for beauty salons). We proposed and implemented RetailCRM: order management, a customer database, and sales analytics.
Video content was hosted on Vimeo, which worked intermittently in Russia. We moved every video to the Kinescope video platform: a database script replaced all the embed codes, and the video embedding mechanism was rewritten.
We developed a bot that serves users events, lectures, and courses from the site. We integrated the bot, the site, and the CRM: administrators see bot users, contacts, and statistics in the WordPress admin. All data is synced with RetailCRM. We also integrated the Tilda website builder so the team can create promo pages on their own.
